It looks like Dominic Monaghan is set to work with JJ Abrams once more.
The Lost actor has been cast in Star Wars: Episode IX.
Monaghan became a bit of an onscreen hit for his portrayal as Merry the hobbit in Peter Jackson’s epic Lord of the Rings trilogy.
He also starred in the Abrams-produced Lost from 2004 for six years on ABC.
The news, revealed by The Hollywood Reporter comes as a source of happiness for the actor, who hasn’t been quiet about his interest in being in a Star Wars movie.
Episode IX, directed by Abrams, began production earlier this month.
Its cast includes Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo and Billie Lourd.
Naomi Ackie, Logan actor Richard E. Grant and Keri Russell are the newbies, while original Star Wars actors returning include Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels and Billy Dee Williams.
The film will feature never-before-seen footage of the late Carrie Fisher, as she will appear as Leia via unused footage from The Force Awakens.
